How Hardcare fits together
A response, a repair and a way to keep working
Hardcare covers agreed hardware failures with a four-hour response, on-site repair and covered parts and labour. Follow the recovery process, then check the exclusions before arranging cover.
01 / Covered hardware faults
Get a covered hardware fault into the repair process
Report the covered failure for a four-hour response. On-site repair and the parts and labour for covered hardware faults are included; the response commitment does not mean every fault is fixed within four hours.
- Four-hour response
- A response commitment for covered hardware faults.
- On-site repair
- A technician attends to the covered hardware.
- Covered parts and labour
- Parts and labour for covered faults are included.
02 / Failed disk recovery
Rebuild after a disk failure from the available backup
Disk recovery includes replacing the failed drive, reinstalling the operating system and restoring the last available backup. What can be restored depends on the backup available when the fault occurs.
- Replace the failed disk
- Repair the covered hardware failure.
- Reinstall the operating system
- Rebuild the operating-system installation after the disk replacement.
- Restore the available copy
- Recover programs and data from the last available backup.
03 / Loan equipment
Use loan equipment when the repair runs longer
If the system remains unusable for more than 48 hours, loan equipment with a similar configuration helps keep the business operating while repairs continue. The setup includes your programs and data where available.
- More than 48 hours unusable
- Loan equipment applies when the system is still unusable beyond this point.
- Similar configuration
- Use an equivalent working setup while the repair continues.
- Programs and data
- Configure the loan equipment around the available installation and backup.
