Marlin Enterprise: trading stock between your own companies

Inter-company stock transfers, and group margin without waiting for month-end. Now live for every Marlin Enterprise site on the current release.

Multi-site owners have been asking for this for years. Inter-company stock transfers in Marlin Enterprise are live for every site on the current release.

What's shipped

Marlin Enterprise now handles stock movements between your subsidiaries as internal transfers, with the paperwork the ATO and your accountant both want. Prices are set at the group level, and margin rolls up nightly against the trading company that made the sale.

Why it matters

  • Slow-moving stock at one site can service a customer at another site without a supplier order or a manual transfer note.
  • Group margin is visible without waiting on end-of-month journals.
  • Franchise groups get a defensible arms-length transfer price for internal and external audit.

What you need to do

  • If you're on the current Enterprise release, nothing. It's on.
  • Set your transfer-pricing rule under Settings, Group, Transfers.
  • Turn on the nightly rollup for margin reporting.

What we're working on next

Currency handling for the New Zealand sites, and a franchisor view that shows every franchisee's margin on the same page.
